You know what’s scary? When your oven decides to stop working. Ghosts, ghouls, and witches are things of the past, when you’re having a baker’s worst nightmare. (Yikes!)

Speaking of scary, Halloween seems to have crept up on us this year. We read somewhere that most of adulthood consists of marveling at how fast time passes, and we couldn’t agree more. So for those of you (like us) who feel like there’s never enough time for anything, these Matcha Mud Cups are for you. Whip them up in just a matter of minutes- no hassle (or oven) required!

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (1 package) cream cheese, room temperature and soft
  • 3 Tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tsp Aiya Cooking Grade Matcha
  • 10 Oreo cookies
  • 4 oval shaped cookies (we used Milano)
  • Gummy worms (to top)
  • Black icing (for writing)

 

Directions:

  1. Place the Oreo cookies in a medium sized Ziploc bag and crush using a rolling pin until fine crumbs form. A food processor works as well.
  2. Using an electric hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Sift the powdered sugar and Matcha directly into the bowl and add the heavy cream. Beat for a few minutes or until smooth.
  4. Layer the Matcha cream cheese mixture and Oreo crumbles into small glass jars or ramekins. Decorate with oval shaped cookies (for headstones) and gummy worms, as desired.
  5. Serve chilled and enjoy!
