As Aiya’s most popular grade of Matcha, the Ceremonial Grade offers a brilliant jade green color, balanced nutrient value, and mild, natural sweetness. The natural sweetness (derived from the amino acid L-theanine) is perfectly balanced with a slight Matcha astringency (derived from the natural tea catechins), making it perfect for making Usu-cha, or thin style Matcha. This grade is called “ceremonial grade,” as the quality is high enough for formal Japanese tea ceremonies.
