  • Perfect for making traditional hot tea ("Koi-cha")
  • Recommended for special occassions
  • Naturally sweet and smooth in flavor

As the highest grade of Matcha currently offered by Aiya, the Premium Grade Matcha provides a level of quality typically reserved for high-class Japanese tea ceremonies. With tons of natural sweetness (umami flavor) from the L-Theanine amino acids, this grade is usually served as Koi-cha (thick tea), but can also be enjoyed as Usu-cha (thin tea).

Recommended for special occasions.

Aiya has a network of over 200 farmers, yet only a few have the knowledge to achieve this premium quality tea. It contains the highest amount of L-Theanine amino acids in Aiya’s product line – a true rare treat.

All of Aiya’s Matcha is produced in the Nisho region of Aichi prefecture, Japan, where the finest Matcha has been grown for over 800 years.

Each 30g (1.1 oz) tin is good for approximately 15 servings.

even smoother...

I usually use Aiya's ceremonial matcha, either the regular or organic, both are superb. As I mentioned in another review, you can't beat Aiya's quality. I purchased this to try the difference. This premium matcha is soooo smooth, not one hint of bitterness. It whisks well, possesses a delicate matcha taste with some amazing taste notes. It is a beautiful bright green color (a bit greener than the ceremonial). A gorgeous product and an outstanding matcha.
Excellent Matcha

This is my favorite Matcha powder. it is very expensive, however so mostly I use the Ceremonial grade Matcha which is also excellent.

I'm sure this isn't "proper" but I often mix this powder together with the ceremonial matcha so it lasts longer.

This matcha powder is my favorite. Due to the cost I mostly buy the Ceremonial matcha instead, which is always excellent.

The best Matcha

This is absolutely my favorite Matcha. Unfortunately, it's expensive so I can't keep it on hand as much as I would like. But, if you are in the market for an exceptional Matcha, Aiya's Premium Matcha is it!
