Green Monk Cocktail

A beautiful combination of gin, Meyer lemon juice and a homemade ginger honey syrup mixed with Aiya Matcha green tea. It brings the flavors of fall and winter that we love along with the health benefits of Matcha.

Serves 1.

An original recipe prepared for us by One Martini. 


    • 1.5 oz gin
    • 3/4 oz ginger honey syrup
    • 1/2 oz fresh squeezed Meyer lemon juice
    • 1/4 oz green Chartreuse 
    • 2.5 oz whisked and cooled Aiya Cooking Grade Matcha
    • Soda water to top off
    • 3 pcs candied ginger on a skewer for garnish


    For the Cocktail:


    1. Add gin, ginger honey syrup, Meyer lemon juice and Green Chartreuse to a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake.
    2. Whisk about 1/2 tsp Matcha in 2.5 oz hot water and allow to cool.
    3. Fill a highball glass with ice and pour in cooled Aiya Matcha green tea.
    4. Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into the highball glass.
    5. Top with soda water.
    6. Garnish with candied ginger on a skewer and enjoy!


      For the ginger honey syrup:

      1. Combine 1/2 cup honey, 1/3 cup water, 1/4 vanilla bean sliced open, 1 orange peel and 1 tablespoon grated ginger in a small saucepan.
      2. Heat on medium-low, stirring to dissolve the honey.
      3. Let simmer 15 minutes, remove from heat, let cool and strain into a glass bottle.
      4. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
